A successful inaugural event for Procurement and HR leaders in Asia to rethink total talent.

ProcureCon Total Talent Asia 2026 brought together procurement and HR leaders to explore how total talent and workforce strategies can be designed, executed and scaled. Over two immersive days, attendees exchanged insights and best practices on building agile, future-ready talent programmes across contingent, freelance, permanent and service-based workforces.

The inaugural summit welcomed 180 attendees from 128 organisations across 13 countries, creating a unique platform where 51% procurement leaders and 49% HR and talent leaders came together to tackle the evolving challenges of workforce management in Asia.

Featuring 48 speakers and more than 30 interactive sessions, the event fostered meaningful discussions, new connections and practical strategies for advancing total talent programmes across the region.

Following the success of our inaugural edition, ProcureCon Total Talent Asia will return even bigger in 2027, bringing together a broader community of procurement, HR and workforce leaders to continue shaping the future of total talent in Asia.

The inaugural ProcureCon Total Talent Asia 2026 brought procurement, HR and workforce leaders together to tackle one big question: how can organisations build a workforce that is ready for the future? Across two days of discussion, five themes consistently emerged.

Theme 1 of 5

Total Talent Starts with Capabilities, Not Headcount

One of the strongest messages from the summit was that total talent is not simply about managing people. Organisations need to start by understanding the capabilities required to achieve business goals, then determine the best way to access them, whether through permanent employees, contingent workers, external partners or automation.

HR and Procurement Need to Make Workforce Decisions Together

While HR traditionally focuses on internal talent and procurement manages external talent, business leaders increasingly need a unified view of their workforce. The most successful organisations are breaking down silos, improving workforce visibility and aligning around shared business outcomes rather than departmental priorities.

AI Is Transforming Work, But People Remain the Advantage

AI is rapidly changing how work gets done, but technology alone is not a competitive advantage. Speakers highlighted the importance of redesigning jobs, developing new skills and enabling employees to work more effectively alongside AI. Human judgement, leadership and adaptability remain critical to long-term success.

Building Talent Is Just as Important as Finding Talent

The conversation extended beyond recruitment to focus on retention, development and career growth. Organisations discussed the importance of creating meaningful career pathways, investing in capability development and building cultures where employees can continue to learn, contribute and grow.

From managing multigenerational teams to bringing HR and procurement leaders together, collaboration emerged as a recurring theme. Leaders challenged common assumptions about age, technology and learning, emphasising that successful workforce strategies are built on inclusion, continuous learning and a shared sense of purpose.

The overarching takeaway from ProcureCon Total Talent Asia 2026 was clear: future-ready organisations will be those that take a holistic approach to talent, combining workforce visibility, cross-functional collaboration, technology adoption and continuous capability development to drive better business outcomes.

I enjoyed the exchange of perspectives on how HR and Procurement can work together to build stronger talent pipelines, strengthen supplier partnerships, close capability gaps, and create greater value for our organisations.

It’s not just about sourcing talent or managing costs. It’s about bringing HR and Procurement together to build a more agile, capable, and future-ready workforce.
